On November 12th, SKA and Together We Can Foundation, a nonprofit organization, partnered with Tailgaters for the Hungry & Homeless to bring necessities to the less fortunate for the fall season. SKA collected items ranging from foods to toiletries through donations given by students, parents, and staff. SKA is very proud of our community for coming together for such a great cause! Furthermore, SKA had a great turnout on November 12th, with so many volunteers coming out to support this endeavor. SKA is always happy when we are given the opportunity to make our community a better place and we are glad we could have a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate. With that being said, SKA would like to thank those who donated and or volunteered for such a great response this year!

On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, Jessica Jiang, Mandi Zhu, Vanessa Ching, Isabella Ching, Joycelyn Lieu, Kevin Lin, Priscilla Lin, and Willie Chi volunteered at the Atlanta Tzu Chi Center. Our students participated in teaching Tzu Chi members draw and use oil pastel as well as help organize and clean the facility. The students enjoyed how they were able to teach in their own way and were happy with the art that they helped create. Additionally, two of our students, Mandi Zhu and Jessica Jiang, drew 15 minutes each, individual portraits for some of the adults there. These portraits were then given as a gift from SKA to the Atlanta Tzu Chi Center.
Furthermore, these well developed classes were filled with focused, determined student teachers, and talented adult artists. The whole community then sat down for a meal with a taste of cooking from everyone. Our sponsors helped contribute home-cooked dishes along with SKA’s own Ms.Teh and Ms.Leng.
At the end of the day, after the hard work presented by SKA students, the group left with a new experience and a happy impression among the Atlanta Tzu Chi Center.
Today, April 3rd, SKA volunteered at the Atlanta Community Food Bank for three hours! Volunteers from SKA assembled boxes to pack food for many agencies for senior citizens across Georgia! Volunteers that came with SKA are Brendan Ching, Ethan Ching, Jeannie Lai, Priscilla Lin, Kevin Lin, Mandi Zhu, Grace Manning, Leng Kar Chang, San Teh, Sarah Tan, Beckey Tan, Jessica Jiang, Joycelyn Lieu, Jimmy Lieu, Crystal Ho, Vivia Lung, Vanessa Ching, Isabella Ching, Brandon Koh, Brian Koh, Rubi Ghani, Mr. and Mrs. Ghani, Lex Ghani, Yuping, Kate Ding, Alexandria Ding, and Mr. Ding. Because of all of the hard work of our volunteers, we were able to pack 660 boxes full of food for those in need. The impact that these volunteers had by dedicating their time to helping others is great in number, and SKA is so proud of the supportive and compassionate community that we have!
